WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HOST FAMILY IN US FOR MY DAUGHTER LAIA.

SHE HAS DONE HER 1ST SEMESTER IN OKLAHOMA ON 12TH GRADE WITH AN AGENCY WITH A J1 VISA AND SHE NEEDS TO MOVE AS SHE IS IN A TEMPORAL PLACEMENT. THE OPTIONS GIVEN BY AGENCY ARE THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT LAIA IS.  &LINEBREAK&CODE&;SHE IS VERY CHERFUL AND NEED TO BE IN A NON ISOLATED PLACE, IF POSSIBLE NEAR TO THE SEA. SHE LOVES TRAVELLING AND PLAYING BASKETBALL AND WANTS TO TAKE PART OF A FAMILY THAT IS OPEN TO TALK AND INTERESTED IN OTHER CULTURES, NOT BEING STRONGLY CONSERVATIVE.  I SHARE THE LETTER SHE WROTE ONE YEAR AGO TO HER FUTURE HOST FAMILY.

Dear Host Family

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking time to read my letter! I'll try to make it short and not boring!

My name is Laia and I am 16 years old. My parents are divorced since I was 4 years old, and I live with both of them as they have shared custody. I also have a sister, Ivet, who is 13 years old and a dog called Bruna.
I live very close to Barcelona, in an area of Spain called Catalonia. I am used to live in an urban context with mild weather.

I am studying 11th grade. I am really excited and grateful to be able to live with an American host family and go to an American high school. I think it’s an incredible experience! 
Two years ago I lived with a host family in UK for one month studying in a British high school.  That trip was so positive and thanks to that I decided to apply for this exchange project in the USA.

Once I will finalize 12th grade I want to go to the university to study Psychology. I would love to become a psychologist to help people and society. It is my dream!

Apart from studying I spend time playing basketball with my high school team.  I had played basket for many years. In general I can say that I like all sports. 
I love spending time with my friends. We make a lot of different plans. We love going out for diner, going to concerts, going to the beach, visiting new places and also talking a lot! I also love listening to music, mainly pop music, R&B, Reggeaton and trap. My favourite artist by far is Harry Styles ! I love his music and his vibes. 
Fashion is also one of my favourite hobbies. I love going shopping with my mother or my best friends, doing my make-up , doing my nails,etc. I like to look good always. I consider myself also a healthy person and I like to eat healthy food.

On holidays I love travelling and I use to help my family in the organization of each trip. We try to travel once a year to different countries. In 2019 we travelled to Thailand. It was like a dream! 

Living with me is really easy as I am responsible, sensitive and respectful and not at all a demanding person. I enjoy being with my family but also I need time to go out with my friends and spend time alone. I am also a friendly person that likes to meet new people and be close to my friends and support them. I consider myself a day dreamer. 

I am really curious and looking forward to hearing all about you, I would really like to be part of your family if you consider that I am the right person. It will be a fantastic year!
